Bios

Brian Lucey

Mastering engineer Brian Lucey was a pro musician at 18 in NYC, an analog tape engineer in the 1990s, and mastering for the last 25 years is credited on billions of streams in every style, including multiple Grammy, Latin Grammy, Australian Aria, and Canadian Juno winners. He curated this Signature Series with the brightest minds in the world to solve the problems he's heard on tens of thousands of mixes using other monitors.

Kevin Malmgren

Kevin Malmgren is a third generation speaker designer and musician. He started building speakers 50 years ago when he was 5 years old. Many believe he is the world's leading designer and there are no other third generation speaker designers with a musicians ear. "Everything starts with the mid range, and extends from there."

Evolution Acoustics

Evolution Acoustics was founded over 20 years ago after Kevin had been a designer for Eggleston Works and Von Schweickert Audio. The v.1 package was conceived three years ago and Brian worked with Kevin on the voicing of the amplifier, the amp fuse, the speaker cables and power cable specifically for pro audio.

Shunyata Research

For over 25 years, Shunyata has been the leader in power cabling and distribution, with designs based on a PhD in materials science from its founder Caelin Gabriel. Used by Rick Rubin/Shangri-la, David Gilmour, Greg Wells, Derek Trucks and hospitals globally.

Cardas Audio

Cardas Audio is an Oregon-based, family-owned company founded by George Cardas in 1987. Drawing on his background as a telephone line engineer, he developed a proprietary manufacturing process using ultra-pure materials and Golden Ratio mathematics to create high-performance audio cables.

Acme Audio Labs

Based in the US, Acme Audio Labs makes affordable fuse upgrades for any equipment. The Silver Cryo Fuse with CFC Coating fine tunes the monitor package for effortless mix translation.

Quotes

Take It From The Professionals:

"Clear, punchy low end for days, with impressive depth and clarity overall. Only took a couple of sessions to comfortably transition over to the v.1 from ATC25A. The v.1 exposes points of weakness in my mixes and makes it easy to correct them quickly. Mixes that aren’t great really suffer through them and mixes that are great really shine 🤘🏼! "

- Steve Chadie (3x Grammy awards; Willie Nelson, Los Lonely Boys, Lukas Nelson, Dolly Parton, Particle Kid, Orville Peck)

"The most impressive monitors I've ever worked on."

- Shawn Dealey (Mixer - Counting Crows, The Doobie Brothers, Kenny Wayne Shepherd)

“The perfect canvas for mixing. A level of transient clarity and midrange truth that made my previous setup (Kii 3) feel processed.”

- Mark Abrams (PureMix)

“This is the NS-10 of 2065.”

- Random Jamaican Mixer at NAMM 2026

"I can't believe the translation. I barely listen on my large Strauss anymore. And the natural (not bright) top end is saving my ears. "

- David Francolini (Mixer - Geneva)

"People have brought me monitors for years, most of them were impossible to use. With the v.1 I was immediately able to start working on final mixes, and the translation is great."

- Eric J (Multi Grammy, Emmy and Aria winning mixer. Flume, Chet Faker, Angus & Julia. Tame Impala - Dracula Remix Billboard Global #3)

“Best mixing monitors I’ve worked on for translation.”

- Michael Hynes (Originator of the Dutch & Dutch 8C Gearspace thread that helped to launch the product)

“Sounds great. I hear everything that’s right and everything I know is wrong with my mix.”

- Fab Dupont (2x Grammy Winning mixer for Bad Bunny, Pure Mix Founder)

"Incredible product. We would like to use a set of the v.1 at the factory"

- Grant Samuelson, Shunyata Research

"These monitors let me feel the music, not just hear it. The low to mid range is so rich and honest that every record feels connected, emotional, and alive while I'm creating and recording."

- Harv (Justin Bieber, John Legend, Mariah Carey, Jlo)

"The v.1's immediately changed the way I hear details in my space. The stereo imaging is inspiring, the transient response is exceptional, and the low-end translation remains full even at lower monitoring levels. There's so much substance I'm getting that wasn't felt before."

- Mark Parfitt (Justin Bieber, SZA, Kehlani, Snoop Dogg, Meghan Trainor)

"These should be the standard in every studio."

- Cocoa Sarai (Artist/Singer: Dr Dre, Snoop)

"Despite its small footprint, it packs a massive punch. It's a tool that can serve everyone from bedroom producers to seasoned veterans in the business. Honestly, the last time a speaker had this kind of impact on the industry was the Yamaha NS-10M."

- Rick St. Hilaire (Whitney Houston, Busta Rhymes, Mariah Carey, Damien Marley, Alicia Keys)

"We've spent 3 days listening to all the monitors and these are the best."

- a group of five young students at NAMM

"These speakers would be remarkable if they were several times their size. But given that they're relatively tiny, with a single 5.5-inch ceramic-matrix mid-woofer and a 2-inch Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeter, they're unbelievable. They have the extension and dynamics of a big, full-range, multi-driver system, with bass response that's useful down to 25 Hz and highs that reach past the 30 kHz limit of my measurement mic. But they also offer the nearly point-source imaging of compact two-way speakers, with phase response that's close to linear, even down to 185 Hz.

The Evolution v.1 Studio Monitor Package really is amazing. Whether utilized as nearfields or midfields, I believe it would be possible to rely on them as your sole monitoring solution – which says a lot about the system's accuracy and real-world usability."
